- How long have you been a garage door contractor? What is your experience?
- What sort of training have you had to qualify you for this job?
- Are you a member in any sort of professional, relevant organizations or guilds?
- Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau?
- Are you both insured and bonded?
- How many employees do you work with on an average job?
- Do you offer free, written estimates with a price guarantee?
- When the job is done, do you offer a guarantee on your workmanship?
Now comes the fun part - choosing your new garage door. There are so many different styles and materials available now, s if you are going for a particular "look" for your home, you will definitely be able to find a garage door to match it. Just be aware that some styles only come in certain sizes, and color choices.
Then comes the "automatic garage door opener" consideration; this may very well come included in the estimate. Just be sure to check the brand and quality of the automatic garage door opener. Some less than reputable garage door installers will purposely choose a cheap automatic opener. When it malfunctions (which it will) you then need to call the installer back again, and have them fix it, which of course costs more money.
